A resolution has been passed in the UN Human Rights Council to investigate Israeli atrocities against Palestinians. However, Israel has reacted angrily to the proposal.
The 48-member forum was voted on in Geneva on Thursday. In the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, 24 countries voted in favor of the investigation into human rights violations, while 9 countries voted against. Hamas, the control group in Gaza, conducted a military exercise in Gaza on Thursday.
The group’s Gaza commander, Yahya Sinwar, has warned that a major religious war could break out in the region if world leaders do not stop Israel from occupying Al Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah.
Twenty-five Palestinians, including six children, have been killed in 11 days of Israeli atrocities in Gaza. About 2,000 were injured.
